GBW "Booster Club"

The GBW Booster Club is comprised of "non-human" members of Good Bears of the World and includes teddy bears, pets, many different plush animals and even a pair of work boots! The Booster Club was formed in the late '90's as a memorial tribute to Wisconsin Teddy Bear artist, Barbara Troxel. The founding member is Glory, a teddy bear purchased by GBW Toledo Ohio Den's Mike Cousino from Barb. Boosters create fundraising projects in which all members can participate; the motto of the Club is: "We put the FUN in fundraising."

Boosters gathered around the 2008 Booster Cookbook

Booster fundraising projects have included:

1. a mile of pennies
2. a mile of nickels
3. crafts and garage sales
4. "Happy Thoughts" banks
5. a Booster Cookbook in 2008 that raised $500 at the San Jose GBW Charity Auction

Since their beginning Boosters have gifted teddy bears to children in the USA, China, Peru, Russia, England and Japan.

Boosters 2009 Fundraising bear, Mr. Pockets

2009 Booster Fundraising projects included:

1. Boosters created artist trading cards for a special raffle bear, "Mr. Pockets" made by teddy bear artist, Marji Bebiak. The drawing for the lucky winner took place at the Oct. 2009 Teddy Bear Jubilee in Kansas City.
2. Boosters collected new teddy bears for the Ark of Hope adoption agency with offices in California, Illinois and Texas as part of GBW's 40th Anniversary celebration. A "card shower" for children waiting for adoption was included in this project.
