Pat Moore's "Chef Bear R Dee" Teddy Bear Show provided the perfect venue for GBW's 2008 Annual General Membership Meeting. Denis Shaw, John Paul Port, Susan McCay, Connie Howell and the Tiny Teddy Lovers Club presented exciting workshops. Friday night Chairbear Carolyn Murillo and members of the Bay Area Bears Den provided a wonderful buffet dinner for the GBW "Chairbears' Meeting" as well as a beautiful floral celebratory cake which was presented to Pat at the Saturday night banquet. Saturday night's banquet - with incredible centerpieces that included bears created by Janet Anderson and table favors by GBW's Mountain Bear Fan Club - was a gala event that prefaced a successful GBW Fund Raising Charity Auction. Convention bears were designed by Beverly Port, John Paul Port and Denis Shaw while the Auction featured John Paul Port and Martha Burch as auctioneers. The GBW Booster's Cookbook was a highlight of the auction with Chrissy Johansson winning it for $500! Sunday's showroom was an arctophile's delight that was enjoyed by everyone who visited. Once again GBW members were blessed to be part of an opportunity to share hugs, spread the GBW message, and raise almost $8,500 at our annual meeting! |
